Recruiting On Campus

Interviews may be scheduled during the fall and spring semesters to accommodate your recruiting needs. Click on the Spring 2007 Recruiting Calendar to view our block of potential dates.

Log into Career Connections to request a specific date to interview on campus.

Be sure to indicate your preference for type of interview (pre-select or open sign-up). You begin the process by logging into Career Connections and "Requesting an Interview Schedule." Following your request, you will be sent an automated email confirmation.  You will be empowered to manage your interview schedule through Career Connections.  If you use any paper marketing and recruiting materials to promote your organization, please provide us a generous supply if you want us to distribute such to candidates prior to your visit (our address).

Pre-selection Schedules

Most employers prefer to review all resumes submitted by interested applicants and select candidates for their interview schedules prior to the campus visit. This method of recruiting is designated as pre-selection.   Dates must be scheduled at least four (4) weeks in advance in order to allow for ample publicity time.

    Steps involved are:

        1.    You "Request an Interview Schedule" date through Career Connections
        2.    ASU Career Services publicizes your visit virtually through Career Connections (minimum of 2 weeks publicity)
        3.    Career Connections sends an email notification of your interview to eligible candidates and gathers their resumes as they submit applications online
        4.    Career Connections automatically forwards you resumes at the appropriate cutoff date
        5.    You select candidates for interviews on-line
        6.    Candidates schedule themselves for specific interview times through Career Connections
        7.    You physically come to ASU and interview on your scheduled day

Open Sign-up Schedules

If you do not wish to select candidates or review resumes before your visit, then you may select an open sign-up schedule. Candidates screen themselves according to your posted criteria and then sign-up in open time slots on your interview schedule. To allow for adequate publicity, we must know of your visit at least three (3) weeks in advance.

    Steps involved include:

        1.    You "Request an Interview Schedule" date through Career Connections
        2.    ASU Career Services publicizes your visit virtually through Career Connections (minimum of 2 weeks publicity)
        3.    Candidates view your interview schedule online and self-select specific interview times through Career Connections
        4.    You physically come to ASU and interview on your scheduled day

The Interview Schedule

Daily interviews may begin as early as 8:30 AM, concluding as late as 5:00 PM. One hour is scheduled for lunch (12 - 1), unless otherwise specified. Meetings or luncheons with faculty and staff are encouraged, and can be arranged by Career Services.  We have meeting room space to accommodate your pre-recruitment Promotional Visits (information sessions) which can be scheduled through Career Connections by clicking on "Request Promotional Visit On Campus."  Refreshments, audio-visual and projection equipment is also available.  Free visitor parking is available.  Contact us for directions or visit http://careers.astate.edu/directns.htm.

Cancellations and Changes

Even though we all plan well, changes sometimes occur. Any changes or cancellations should be communicated to us as soon as possible. Changes made to schedules less than three weeks before your visit may negatively affect participation by students and graduates.

Internships, Cooperative Education, Summer and Part-Time Positions

We encourage and readily accommodate interviews for part-time, summer, co-op and internship positions. Additionally, we can post your positions or provide you with resumes of potential interns. If you choose to interview on campus, schedule your visit according to your preferred interview type as mentioned previously.

Thanks!
